As the countdown to this year’s Grey Cup Festival advances (it’s just 30 days now, my friends!), preparations are well underway to receive and welcome tens of thousands of guests to the capital of the great #RNation, TD Place in Ottawa, Ontario.
Two additional images of TD Place are below, showcasing different angles and vantage points as of Saturday, 21 October 2017; all three shots were taken from approximately 3,000 feet. Click to enlarge:
With bright fall colours adorning the trees throughout the Glebe and neighbouring Old Ottawa South communities, a warm Saturday sun was shining down on Lansdowne Park as I took flight to capture a bird’s eye view of the almost completed eastern end zone seats. The east-end grandstands will contribute the lion’s share of the nearly 12,000 temporary seats to the stadium for the playing of the 105th Grey Cup on November 26, with a minority expansion to the west-end options increasing the overall seating capacity of TD Place Stadium to approximately 36,000.
Information about the dozens of Grey Cup Festival events (some ticketed, many are free) which lead up to the great CFL Championship game can be located at GreyCupFestival105.ca. If you are still looking for tickets to the big game, you’ll need to act fast – at the pace they were moving in the previous weeks, they may very well be sold out by the time you read this.
