Late June 2016 saw Orbital ATK perform the critical QM-2 test of their redesigned, 5-segment solid rocket motor, in Promontory, Utah. Designed to be a part of NASA’s upcoming Space Launch System, the test was deemed a success following a full duration burn under chilled-core conditions.
